Owner, Physical Therapist

Dr. Eric Broadworth, DPT, OCS, CDNT, CSCS

Dr. Eric Broadworth is the owner/founder of Fuel Physical Therapy & Sports Performance.  Dr. Broadworth is a Board-Certified Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. He received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy and B.S. in Health Professions with a minor in Spanish at Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Michigan. He specializes in outpatient orthopedic and sports physical therapy. Dr. Broadworth also received a Certification in Dry Needling (CDNT) through the Institute of Advanced Musculoskeletal Treatments and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). He has worked with high school, collegiate and professional athletes from the NBA, NHL, MLB, UFC, and CrossFit throughout his career as a physical therapist. Dr. Eric Broadworth is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), the Sports Physical Therapy Section of the APTA, the Michigan Physical Therapy Association (MPTA), and the NSCA. He enjoys working with CrossFitters, runners, golfers, and hockey players as well as adults that want to be more active. He enjoys being active in his spare time through CrossFit, playing hockey, running, and golfing.

Dr. Hayley VanBeek, DPT

Dr. Hayley has a passion for women’s health and helping active women and athletes with pelvic floor issues. She was born and raised in Zeeland, Michigan, where she received physical therapy after a foot surgery in high school that ironically sparked her interest in pursuing physical therapy as her profession. She received her B.S. in Health Science from Oakland University where she also competed in the Heptathlon and Pentathlon for the Women’s Track and Field Team. She returned home to receive her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Grand Valley State University. Here she discovered her passion for pelvic health physical therapy and the overwhelming need for clinicians, education and advocacy within this specialty area. Hayley has experience treating patients with pelvic floor conditions including bladder, bowel, sexual and pelvic pain concerns, including pregnancy and postpartum populations, and has completed advanced post-doctoral training through the Herman & Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute. She is particularly passionate about pregnancy and postpartum rehab and fitness. Hayley additionally has experience in outpatient orthopedics treating patients across the lifespan with a wide variety of musculoskeletal conditions and is Certified in Functional Dry Needling (FDN) Level 2 through Evidence in Motion. She enjoys working with people who desire to overcome pelvic floor dysfunction as well as orthopedic and sports injuries in order to achieve their goals and return to an active lifestyle. Hayley and her husband Zac have a 2 year old daughter and Bernese mountain dog whom they love and keep busy with. Hayley also enjoys staying active with crossfit, skiing, traveling, watching movies, and boating in the summertime.

Nicole McCarrell, PTA

Nicole graduated from Grand Valley State University with a Bachelor of Science, specializing in Health and Fitness Instruction. She is a Certified Personal Trainer with the National Strength and Conditioning Association as well as a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant through Baker College. She was born and raised in Jackson, MI where she grew up in the fitness and physical therapy world. This is where she developed her passion for helping others reach their goals whether it be to lose weight, improve strength, or prepare for sport or activity through injury prevention. She has experience working with a wide variety of clients ranging from athletes to post-op patients. Nicole enjoys working with clients of all age ranges and diagnoses. Nicole has a Level 1 Fascial Stretch Certification from the Stretch to Win Institute as well as a Level 1 Nutrition Coaching certification through Precision Nutrition. She is also certified in LifeStretch, Stretching Anatomy, Jump Training, and Speed and Agility. Nicole believes in the importance of building a solid foundation and strives to help her clients discover and combat their sources of pain or limitations to both improve quality of life and movement. In her spare time, Nicole enjoys reading, listening to podcasts, working out, catching up with friends, and going on adventures with her dog Saint.

Scott Bush, CPT, CNC, CES, FST

Scott is a certified personal trainer, nutrition coach, and corrective exercise specialist through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. He is also a level one stretch practitioner through Fredrick Stretch Therapy. Scott attended Aquinas College in Grand Rapids and received his bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science. Scott has a background in working with people of all ages and demographics, and is able to adapt his practices to fit each individual he works with. In his off time, Scott enjoys exercising, hiking, writing music, and gaming.

Dr. Matt Zitny, DPT, Cert DN

Dr. Matt Zitny is the clinic director at Fuel Health and Wellness in Grandville MI. Dr. Matt Zitny has a passion for treating active adults and athletes of all ages and specializes with overhead athletes, and men with pelvic floor dysfunction.  He was born and raised in Oxford, Michigan. His interest in sports medicine was ignited when his senior high school baseball season was cut short requiring Tommy John surgery.  He went on to receive his B.S. in Health Science and Minor in Psychology from Rochester University where he played collegiate baseball. He went from Rochester to University of Michigan – Flint where he received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy. He has experience working with high school, collegiate and professional athletes. He has certifications in Dry Needling (Cert DN) from American Academy of Manipulative Therapy, and is also certified in Men’s Pelvic Floor Therapy through Herman and Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute. He has a passion for orthopedic and sports injuries to help people achieve their personal goals and return to an active lifestyle. He is additionally trained in joint manipulation, blood flow restriction (BFR) and Class IV Laser certified. Dr. Matt Zitny is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), and the Michigan Physical Therapy Association (MPTA).  He enjoys being active with co-ed sports leagues, lifting weights, and running.  He also has a passion for experiencing new cultures and traveling the world with his wife Paige and spending time with their two dogs, Jeter and Fir

Dr. Alex Bosch, DPT

Alex attended Calvin University, graduating with a major in kinesiology. After Calvin, he received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Grand Valley State University. He is Level 1 Certified in Dry Needling through evidence in motion and Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) Certified Level 1. Alex was a three-sport athlete in high school and played some collegiate basketball at Calvin. Throughout his time as an athlete, Alex encountered numerous injuries. Through rehabilitation, these injuries became stepping stones that led him to the field of physical therapy. With first-hand knowledge of the physical toll sports can take, Alex has devoted himself to helping others overcome injuries. He is passionate about empowering his patients both physically and mentally, helping them return to sports, work, or everyday activities. Alex has experience working with collegiate and high school athletes in all sports, but specifically football, basketball, golf, and track. Alex is currently pursuing advanced golf rehab certifications, including the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI), to help golfers improve their mobility and strength limitations so they can perform to their full potential on the golf course. In his spare time, he enjoys staying active, lifting weights, golfing, watching sports, and spending time with friends and family.

Keri is our billing specialist. Originally from Traverse City, MI she now resides in Grand Rapids with husband and son. She has a passion for fixing problems and helping people. Keri comes to us with over 20 years of experience in business management, leadership development and event planning. 

Outside of work Keri loves to travel with her family, reading and hiking. She is also an active community volunteer with various organizations.

Suzi Wynsma

Suzi has over 20 years of experience working in the field of office administration and office management. She is also a certified laser therapy technician & is passionate about meeting new people & growing relationships with everyone that calls & walks in our doors! 
 
Growing up Suzi was a gymnast, cheerleader & dancer! She has enjoyed watching her 3 amazing kids grow up and instilling in them the importance of living a healthy, active life through sports. Suzie has 2 daughters ages 22 & 18 and a 13 year old son along with a German Shepard and 2 cats that she adores.
 
When she is not working, you will find her watching her son play basketball along with spending quality time with her kids going to the beach, watching movies or going to concerts. 
 
When she doesn’t have her kids you will find her spending time with friends enjoying the local restaurants, working out or reading a good boo
